🏔️ Paradiski - a world class alpine playground
The alpine domain is one of Peisey-Vallandry’s greatest treasures. Linked to the legendary Les Arcs resort, it already offers 200 kilometers (~ 124 miles) of ski runs that stretch across a stunning range of altitudes from 1,200 to 3,200 meters (3,900 to 10,500 ft) and traverse dramatically different landscapes, from the snow-draped Vallandry forest to the wide-open high plateau of Les Arcs.
🌟 At the heart of it all rises the majestic Aiguille Rouge, a towering peak that dominates the skyline and draws skiers like a beacon.
🚡 But the adventure doesn’t stop there. Thanks to the Vanoise Express cable car, a breathtaking aerial link between mountain ranges , the ski area expands to 425 kilometers of interconnected slopes.
This connection opens the gateway to La Plagne, Roche de Mio, and the La Plagne glacier, creating an alpine playground of limitless scale.
Whether you're chasing fresh powder, seeking breathtaking panoramas, or simply looking to soak in the grandeur of the peaks, Paradiski offers an experience without boundaries.

🎿 The Peisey-Vallandry ski area
Nestled between 1,600 and 2,300 meters of altitude, Peisey-Vallandry offers not only a generous expanse of terrain but arguably the most beautiful corner of Paradiski. It’s also the strategic connector between two major sectors: Les Arcs, accessible directly, and La Plagne, reached via the iconic Vanoise Express cable car.
🌲 Skiing through the forests here is pure bliss. The scenery is stunning, the slopes are uncrowded and flow naturally through the landscape. The lifts are modern, fast, and well-organized, evenly distributed across the area to keep you moving without delay.
🧒 For beginners, the resort has thoughtfully designed a dedicated learning area: served by a gondola lift, equipped with a drag lift and a conveyor belt to ease those first glides.
It’s the perfect environment to build confidence before heading out onto a gentle blue slope, almost classified as green.
📹 The video beside shows the youngest family member gliding down their very first blue slope, accompanied by an ESF instructor. It’s a scene that reminds us it’s never too late to learn. It also offers a stunning glimpse of the Forêt slope, gracefully winding its way through the trees.

✅ Recently completed projects in Peisey-Vallandry
🚡 Vallandry Lift Upgrade — The classic 4-seater detachable chairlift from 1986 has been replaced by a sleek, modern 10-seater gondola, dramatically improving comfort and capacity. This new lift officially opened in December 2021, offering panoramic views and faster access to the slopes.
🛠️ Combe Drag Lift Removal — The detachable drag lift at La Combe was dismantled in summer 2021, as part of a broader reconfiguration of the sector. Given its low usage, the lift was not replaced and its area was given back to nature.
🔜 Upcoming developments
🚠 La Lonzagne Cable Car Replacement — The aging pulsed gondola (6 cabins of 4 seats each) from 1983 will be replaced by a state-of-the-art 10-seater gondola. Scheduled to open in December 2026, this upgrade will enhance the connection between the village and the ski area and improve the flow.
⚠️ Note: No service expected during summer 2026 due to construction (still to be confirmed by the resort). The connection between Peisey and Plan-Peisey will be provided by shuttle buses.
🎿 Peisey Chairlift Modernization — The 6-seater detachable chairlift in Peisey is slated for replacement by 2030, likely with a 10-seater gondola to match the resort’s evolving infrastructure and improve skier flow.
🎿 The Les Arcs ski area

Located in the heart of the French Alps, Les Arcs is a large and diverse ski area divided into four distinct sectors, each connected to its own resort: Villaroger, Arcs 1950–2000, Arcs 1800, and Arcs 1600.
⛷️ Exploring the terrain
To travel from Arcs 1950–2000 to the Arcs 1800 and Arcs 1600 sectors, skiers first take a lift up, then descend into adjacent valleys, a route that offers spectacular views and a true sense of altitude.
🌄 Altitude & Scale
The ski area stretches from 1,200 meters to 3,200 meters in elevation, with most slopes located above 1,800 meters (~ 5,900 ft), ensuring excellent snow conditions and breathtaking panoramas.
🚡 Modern lift network
Les Arcs boasts a modern and efficient lift system, including several recently renovated installations like the sleek and fast Transarc gondola. Further upgrades are planned in areas such as Villaroger and Grand Col to improve access and flow across the entire domain.
🏔️ Access to Aiguille Rouge
The iconic Aiguille Rouge summit is accessible from the Arcs 2000 sector, offering experienced skiers an exhilarating descent (8.2 km with 2,100 m of vertical drop) from one of the highest points in the region. Prefer to admire the view? A cable car ride down is also available.
🌲 Landscapes & Atmosphere
Expect wide open spaces with generous slopes, perfect for carving turns at full speed. Between runs, you’ll also discover wooded areas that add charm and variety to the experience.

La Plagne features a large alpine ski area, carefully divided into several interconnected sub-domains, each with its own unique charm and atmosphere:
- Montchavin–Les Coches: A wooded and picturesque sector, connected to Peisey-Vallandry, offering a smooth transition between resorts
- Champagny-en-Vanoise: Nestled in a separate valley, this area offers a wilder, more preserved ambiance
- La Plagne villages: Including Belle Plagne, Plagne 2000, Plagne Centre, and Plagne Montalbert, high-altitude hubs that form the beating heart of the domain
🎿 Altitude & Snow reliability
The ski area ranges from 1,250 to 3,200 meters in elevation, with 70% of the slopes above 2,000 meters (~ 6,500 ft), ensuring consistent snow coverage and spectacular views over the Tarentaise Valley.
🚡 Lift modernization & expansion
La Plagne is undergoing a major investment program to upgrade its lift infrastructure. New installations have been added to balance skier traffic across sectors, while key systems — such as the Roche de Mio gondola, a vital artery of the domain — are being replaced with state-of-the-art, faster, and more comfortable equipment.
